If you work in corporate communications, internal communications, marketing, PR, this is my challenge for you in 2025:
Challenge your organization’s leaders to harness the power of their words and their voices.
Help them see that when they are active and accessible online, building strong personal brands, it builds trust with the people you’re trying to reach.
And that makes everything easier.
- Launch products instantly.
- Attract talent effortlessly.
- Build a bulletproof reputation.
And all at a tiny fraction of the cost of traditional marketing and communications methods.
Overcoming Objections
There will be pushback. Many executives – maybe even most – will resist the idea of being too public with their voices and stories.
They’ll say they don’t want to get negative feedback or getthe company in trouble.
Tell them you’ll have a well thought-out content plan that hinges on their values and the company’s brand to build trust with your audiences.
They’ll say they don’t want to be self-promotional andprefer to be in the background.
Tell them the best strategy is to not be self-promotional at all, but to promote others (customers, employees, partners), and that amplifies the company's mission, motivates employees, attracts talent, and builds stakeholder trust.
They’ll say they don’t have time.
The truth is, they don’t. Executive leaders are busy people with lots of sh*t to do. But that’s where you come in.
After all, you’re a skilled communicator and storyteller, and you can draw stories out of your company’s executives, get inside their heads, and develop content that resonates with audiences.
All while minimizing their time commitment.
The Time is Now
Executive communications has never been more important. There’s no better way to reach your audiences directly, share your messages, and win their trust.
It doesn’t replace other types of communication and marketing, but it lubricates them.
But it doesn’t happen overnight. You need to start ASAP.
And there’s no better time than right now.
If you don’t know me, my name is Chris. My mission is to help executives unlock the power of their stories.
