If you’re a CEO, executive, or any organization leader, your employees want to hear from you.
Want proof?
According to the 2022 Connected Leadership study by the Brunswick Group, employees prefer workingfor CEOs who are active on social media by a 4 to 1 ratio.
The study further says that “Connected leadership is key to employee engagement.”
Translation: when you connect with your employees, they’re more likely to be motivated, inspired, and aligned. That means better customer experiences, a stronger brand, and a better culture.
A Can’t-Miss Strategy
Now that you know how important it is to stay in touch with your employees, what do you say to them?
It’s not a decision to be taken lightly. Any missteps couldbe taken against you and damage the company’s brand and trust. Inside and outside the company.
But there is at least one can’t-miss strategy you can use that is guaranteed to work.
Celebrate your employees
Take every opportunity you can to celebrate your employees on public platforms like LinkedIn.
How?
- Catch them in random acts of kicking ass onbehalf of the company and/or the customer.
- Showcase their dedication to their craft and whythey love what they do.
- Celebrate them for who they are as human beings.
The reason this is a can’t-miss strategy is that there’s literally no way to screw it up. And you might be surprised what happens next!
Employees will feel more seen and valued. Prospective employees will want to be part of your story. Customers will get to know the people behind the brand. Investors, partners and other stakeholders will want to partner with you.
A Great Start
Of course, there are many other things you should be saying as an executive or company leader. In my experience, knowing where to start is often the hardest part.
That’s what makes celebrating employees such a slam dunk. It’s an easy way to get some momentum and build up some goodwill while you figure out the rest of your strategy.
