About Me
There are a few things you should know
The Basics
I live in Raleigh, North Carolina with my wife, Julia, and my son, Evan. Although Evan insists on growing up and going off to college
somewhere.I grew up in rural Southeastern Wisconsin on a small horse farm. The house I grew up in was a pre-revolutionary saltbox that my parents moved, piece by piece, from Massachusetts to Wisconsin.
Every day, I go for a walk with my dog, Piper. That’s where I get a lot of my ideas.
During my career, I have worked for some of the world’s leading brands, like Kohler, John Deere, and Lenovo. My experience includes in-house marketing departments, agencies, and freelancing. Of those, I like freelancing best, by far, which is why I’ve been independent since 2015.
My Proudest Moment
Up to this point, it was the day my son, Evan, was born. But as I’m writing this, he’s less than 6 months from graduating from high school, so I reserve the right to change my answer.
Also, I once came back from an 0-3 deficit to beat my friend in a best-of-7 ping pong match in college. That was amazing.
First Concert. Best Concert. Worst Concert.
First: UB40 in 1986 at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, the night before my first day of high school.
Best: U2 Zoo TV at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium in 1993
Worst: The B-52s at Summerfest in Milwaukee, circa 1989. We were just there to see Ziggy Marley, the opening act, and left after hearing the B-52s sing off key for 2 songs.
2 Truths and a Lie
I learned to drive when I was 10.
I have a distant relationship to Audrey Hepburn.
A golden retriever literally saved my life.
